Director of Sports Marketing, Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau
Matt Ten Haken
Matt Ten Haken joined the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau team as the Director of Sports Marketing in June of 2010. In the past 14 years, sports tourism has seen an unprecedented growth of events, roomnight generation, and facility development in the Fox Cities. In recognition of these efforts, the Fox Cities was awarded the Sports Tourism Organization of the Year by the National Association of Sports Commissions (now Sports ETA) in 2015.
One of Ten Haken's highlights during his time in the Fox Cities has been the creation of the Community First Champion Center, which he has led from initial development through current management. The 164,000 square foot indoor court and ice complex operates on a "tourism first" model and in 2023 hosted tourism-generating events on 48 weekends.
Prior to joining the Fox Cities CVB, Ten Haken served as Assistant Commissioner at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, a Division III conference based in St. Paul, MN. He holds a bachelor's degree in Sports Management from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a master's degree from the University of St. Thomas (MN) in Athletic Administration.
